Wellington Toffee: A Wedding Vendor That Helps Others

Wellington Toffee: A Wedding Vendor That Helps Others

Hello again, friends!

A few weeks ago, I shared with you that Wellington Toffee now has vendor listings on The Knot and WeddingWire, two immensely popular websites for engaged couples who are planning their weddings. These sites are a one-stop-shop for booking everything from venues and caterers, live bands, dress shops, wedding cakes and much more. Wellington Toffee is listed in the Gifts/Favors category on both sites and we’re proud to have our company promoted by two reputable resources for brides and grooms-to-be.

Lately, I’ve been brainstorming ways that we can use this exciting new venture to continue helping the communities we already pour much-needed resources into. One such community is JUNA Amagara, a system of orphanages in Uganda, Africa that is home to more than 950 children who have lost their parents to the HIV/AIDS pandemic. We are currently providing funding to the organization to help pay for things like school sponsorships and supplies, construction of solar panels, and more.

Today, I’m thrilled to announce a new initiative that we are kicking off – from now through August 2018, any couples who purchase a Wellington Toffee wedding package via The Knot or WeddingWire will be placed in the running to sponsor a child who is currently in JUNA Amagara’s care for a full calendar year. The selected couple will receive a photo of the child and regular updates on his or her progress throughout the year. They will also have the opportunity to correspond directly with that child to send encouragement and well-wishes.

When we first signed up to be a wedding vendor, we knew our toffee would be a great option for couples in need of reception favors, treats for hotel welcome bags, wedding party gifts, and a myriad of other uses. But, we also recognized a need for many couples to work with a vendor that also gives back to the community. Many people are now opting out of gift registries and instead asking for their guests to contribute to causes that they hold near and dear. We’re happy to help fulfill that need, and our hope is that by opening this new channel of opportunity for Wellington Toffee, we can continue to expand our reach and support even more people in need.

I would love your help spreading the word! If you or someone you know is planning a wedding, please feel free to share this blog post, our website, or our social media channels. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – none of what we’ve accomplished would be possible without your ongoing support.

Thank you!

Kevin
